The Pantone group announced recently, that their colour of the year for 2013 is Emerald.
When I think of Emerald green the first thing that pops into my mind is Ireland – the Emerald Isle – and after that the Crown Jewels!
I really like Emerald, but will I wear it?? It suits most skin colours and hair colours – so it should be a huge hit.
How Shall We Wear Emerald Green?
If you look to nature, green goes with everything bright, dark or light!
And if you cast your eye towards the store jewellery counters, green can be mixed with other rich colours like purple, blue, red, black and gold.
I have started out by incorporating this lovely colour into a few pieces of my handcrafted jewellery.
I bought some beautiful Malachite oval beads before Christmas and have created a very simple bracelet with sterling silver beads and a sterling clasp, with a matching pair of earrings.
The beads are so glorious that they do not require a complicated design – simplicity shows them off to their best, and their colour has to be seen to be believed.
So What Does Emerald Green Mean?
Green is a colour of renewed hope; it’s a calming colour and a colour of balance and order. In many cultures it signifies growth, prosperity and renewal. Green is the most abundant colour in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other colour of the spectrum – and it looks like we are going to see even more of it now!!
Pantone describe Emerald Green as “Lively. Radiant. Lush…A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.”
So…..will you be seen in Emerald green???
